Sunday's ride

Started out warm but wet....close to 70 but the overnight showers left everything soaked...the group of ten quickly turned into four riders. I was not to be denied, first nice day in two weeks....we ride. It was the first time for the new 42t and 2-up. All I can say is if you are forced (the "marriage" thing) to ride w/passenger, 17/42 combo rocks! Just the way the busa handled at low speeds, pulling away from a stop on a hill, etc...wow, I'm sold! I will warn you, two new steel sprockets and a big old DID zvm will sing, not the quiet stock set up everyone is use to, not bad but different. However, the real difference is in the twisties, carrying just a little more engine speed out of the corners without shifting is the deal, especially with "Muffy" hanging on for dear life. Also, I can't say enough about my new M1 Sportechs. We were going from dry to wet all afternoon, these tires will inspire you, held on like glue, wet or dry. We were so far ahead of the other three (2 new ZX6r's and a triple speed) we had time for the occasional girl/boy kiss thing. To say the least, we were a pretty fast couple, it turned into "chase Jerry & Karen" day. To her credit, she is the perfect high speed passenger! What a hoot...beautiful day, beautiful girl, beautiful bike!!!

Sounds like a great day! My wife and I got in a good ride yesterday as well. Thanks for the report on the 42T sprocket and the tires.

Sounds great! Can't to enjoy my first ride w/ the 16T/42T. It should be a hoot and a half!

Good to hear others are out and riding... rained yesterday, with some hail, didn't get to ride at all. Today is looking good though. May have to play hookie from work this afternoon.

At least someone is out having a good time riding. Oh well, hopefully Spring will be here soon. It's killing me.

Glad you had a great ride. Those M1s are some great tires. They will wear out fast though, but for the grip and the price, they are definately worth it! I noticed more noise when changing out the stock sprockets also. When you get used to you setup you have now, drop to 16/42. That's what I am running now, and it is awesome!
