How did they come up with the % numbers?
Anyway, cool data, Thanks!

I wonder if the folks at BMW get tired of being *practical*?

I demo rode the BMW and it doesn't come close to the Busa or 12R in power, linear power, & cornering. Sure its got ABS brakes and a much more comfortable riding position with heated grips, but some those numbers just don't make sense;

Kawi Busa BMW
0-60 3.00 2.83 3.18
0-100 5.76 5.53 6.62

and the BMW gets 96% on engine while 12R & Busa get 97%/98%

That doesn't compute...

And personally I don't think the chasis should rate 95% on the BMW. Much more effort to lean it in the corners than the busa or 12R.

I think someone is trying to give the BMW a little good press.

Don't get me wrong, its a great bike for touring, with lots of power. But its just not in the same realm as the 12R or Busa when it comes to accel and twisties.

My thought exactly. Seems someone paid for some good press on the BMW. Just wanted to get others opinions on it. The article is good and brings up some good points, but overall I think it was a platform to talk about the BMW.

Jeez...

I think the Blackbird is the only bike Hon*a has made that I like....It didn't seem to do very well in the test though.

gee...you're surprised that a UK based rag chose the BMW?

my heart belongs to my busa....there's no denying what the BMW has to offer....as a more refined daily ride...if you can afford it.

Damn i always that the busa breaks sucked but guess thats just me

yeah yeah yeah, whatever.  :P   That magazine is SOOO paid off.

Here's the only real proof anyone needs showing that the busa sucks:

it must be truth.  it's on the net
given an hour or two and an available web page i too could post up numbers that make the busa sound greater than it really is, every magazine test i have seen has the busa win in stock form. Nobody here will deny that a ZX12 with a muzzy pipe and a good map is hard to beat, but in a stock for stock race the busa is king...

"While our seat of the pants dyno tells us this is no Hayabusa/ZX12 beater, the new BMW is certainly no slouch." Sport Rider, August 2005. Over-engineering at it's best.... Personally, I just never felt the need for an electronic 3-way suspension adjuster and ABS brakes. I can't wait to put one of these babies in it's place, behind the king, the legend, the bike all other's aspire to be.....busa's rule. ps: notice top billing for the busa in "hayabusa/ZX12". Couldn't let that one go by.
