I was planning my ride for next weekend noticed that Friday is the 13th and it’s a Full Moon. I was wondering what’s your pre-ride ritual and does superstition play a part?

After I got my license the first time I ever drove a car on the highway by myself was on Friday 13th with a full moon.

Me and pipefighter....born on Friday the 13th...under a bad sign. I will be riding weather permitting, superstitions or not. I came into this world on Friday the 13th, I suppose it would be a fitting day to go out should the good Lord put a Mack truck in my way I can't miss....

Maybe superstition is brand specific because almost every Ducati owner I met has a ritual or is superstitious. It probably goes to the bike it self, because on a Duc you are always praying it doesn’t break down and usually it does. A buddy of mine from SF is extremely funny to watch before each ride. He has a whole ritual before he mounts up. Kind of like watching Nomar Garciaparra when he bats or maybe it‘s OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)? Duc riders, got to love those guys. Since I switched from the Duc to the Busa I know longer fear the side of the road. I would say I’m a little superstitious so I guess Friday is a down day, must be the Duc in me.

I'm going for an all-night ride on my sled to enjoy the beautiful night.
Hope the clouds stay away.
Moonlight rides in Vt are awesome.

I thought this was gonna pertain to the bad azz Stevie Wonder song.

Okay...... Now your saying Ducati's are like Harley's, constantly breaking down.

Were in my post do I mention anything about HD???
I can't really speak for HD cause grandpa didn't leave me his bike. I owned three Duc’s in the last 6 years all have left me on the side of the rode. My Ducati ST2 and ST4 had cam belt problems and electrical problems my 916 major electrical problems all had clutch issue at one point or another. I was not alone cause my local duc dealer always had a long line in the service department. I still like Ducs but the Busa is bulletproof compared to a duc.

Didn't have trouble with my ST4s, but Ducs need attention and care or they will let you know

. As far as that goes, Italian Bikes need ya, but Jap Bikes don't. That's the difference and I like realiability (lower cost, more power, better built) more now than having a bike that needs me to keep fixing it
