Suspension Recommendations Please

Im 225, 5'11. Right now my bike is completely stock. I want to be able to corner a little better without replacing shocks, or lowering it.

Any ideas? For example, does turning the little suspension dials upfront make much of a difference?

It makes a HUGE difference. Do a search for suspension and the thread that is titled "Jinkster attacks suspension" or something similar is the one that you want. His thread illuminates it much better than I can.

+1 on the Jinkster suspension mod. Along with the steering dampner mod, your bike will love the new modifications and so will you. Good luck.

At your weight you'll want different springs for thee front forks. In the least you should find a competent shop to help you setup your suspension. This should include you on the bike and geared up for a more accurate setting. Without the front springs being swapped the front end will never be setup as best as it can for your weght.

If you were just blvd cruising then the suspension doesn't need to be as precise as it should be for twisties.

What everyone ele has said...

Plus put in +1" dogbones in the rear and swap to a 55 Profile tire.

I'm thinking for your weight you'll wanna put stronger springs in the front forks

Hey thanks guys, I ended up finding the thread earlier. Great write up as you all have said.

One more question though, guy mentioned 55 profile, what about a 180?

(Commuta_Busa @ Jul. 17 2007,07:12) yes 180/55 is a common tire swap for some of the twisty guys.
190/55's now that they are available on the market. a year ago 180/55 was about only "Road Tire" choice.
