Suspension setup with stretch

I'm looking for tips on how to setup my suspension. I know how to do it without a stretched swingarm but I'm looking for specific setup advice with an 8" stretch.
I bought the bike with the stretch and I don't want to undo it at this time. I do want to raise it back to stock height and set the shock up for the best cornering possible with the stretch. I know this isn't ideal but I want to see how it does before I decide to set it back to stock wheelbase. I do like the stretched look and I don't race so.....

Setting up a stretch 'correctly' is really only for drag racing and weight transfer for a good launch, with minimal wheelspin.
Sag numbers for a stock wheelbase corner carver, and the overall setup is completely different.
The best thing you can do is set it up like it was stock wheelbase and hope for the best.
There is no magic formula to make a stretched bike corner well.
Many will tell you that it'll corner great stretched and handle fine.
I respectfully say that these riders do not have the skill to be commenting, as their knees have likely never touched the road.
Can't drag a knee? Not a problem at all, But...you Do need the bike setup so that it can...even if you can't.
If not, your riding will never progress, as the bike will not handle well enough for your skills to improve.
You'll have to decide what you want.
If you're happy cruising the stretch, or if you want a good stock wheelbase setup.
It's a cool experience when your bike handles poorly, then turn a few clicks here and there and be amazed that the bike feels smooth, and like it's stuck to the road on rails.

That's a tough one. Stretchers are generally not too concerned with the sophistication of the ride, so there is probably very little solid info on settings (for comfort anyway). It would be interesting to know how much additional preload is required to achieve the OEM spec sag (I forgot what that is).

Obviously, you could go with a good OEM setting and then increase everything. More compression because the longer swingarm is going to increase the leverage on the shock. But also rebound, because the long arm will also make it more difficult to control the wheel's movement. Do it a few steps at a time then go ride it. I usually pick a route with a variety of surfaces, then ride that same route over and over to take the route out of the equation as a variable.

There is probably a lot more information if you are looking at getting the max traction out of the stretch while keeping the front down. A drag racer or street racer will know this if they are willing to share. Also, drag settings are different from roll-on settings (I would think).

I just realized I have no idea how to answer your specific question though, haha.

I recall reading something about the spring rate....I don't know if someone like Chris Moore could help as he sets his up with a stretch...

I've never really studied the extended swingarm suspension settings though

Yea, spring rate may need to be increased. If I run into that I'll likely be getting a shorter chain instead and getting rid of the stretch. I just want to see what this is capable of as is.... Unfortunately I'll likely have to wait for next summer.

Is that your shop? I'll probably call tomorrow and see what they have to say.
No, I didn't follow my dream. A lot of experience in shocks there. He is going to want you to send it in to revalve the oem or buy another but I would take his advise.

Things that will help are knowing your weight and playing with the settings accordingly-your shock might already be modified for the stretch too, u need to look.

raising the front and rear to stock or almost stock height, putting a 190/55 tire on it as it probably has a flat profile Shinko hook up or something. U can also go to a bigger rear sprocket to shorten it up alil without changing the swing arm.

It won’t corner like a 600 but u should have no problems hustling it thru the canyons, it’s just a workout lol

Post pics!
