Just need a place to "T" into the electrics to run a live wire to my heated grips. On my last VFR I used the feed to the back pedal switch, will this be a problem?
It would be better wiring from the battery with 10-12 ga wire. Get an eyelet connector to tap off the battery and get a fuse holder before the heater. Find the specs for the heater to run the right fuse.

I tapped onto tail light wire (brown if I remember correctly) and added a relay and fuse. From there I setup a power distribution block so everything connected to this block will not power up until I turn on the switch. No more battery problem except need to start battery mod soon due to insuficient stock battery power ... Posted via Mobile Device
Get a standard 12V relay. Wire one contact input to the battery through a fuse, and the other to a small splice block. Ground one trigger wire. Tap the other into the rear running light wire. When you're done you will have a ready source of switch power directly from the battery. Power will come on every time you switch the key on.
Here's step by step instructions that I found on the net.
I would prefer to install a fuse block instead of just a power distribution block but both implementation is similar.
