So long story short I have a 2002 hayabusa I recently purchased a swingarm that came off a 2008 Gen 2 I’ve done everything for the swap (pivot and bearings) to make the swingarm mount up to my Gen 1 but I have no room to fit the swingarm dust seals anyone ever experienced that issue? Also what’s the worst that could happen running the bike without the covers/seals

Swingarm is a 10 over C&S

Appreciate the quick replies I think I’m gonna run it for the rest of the warm weather and this winter exchange it out for a evil arm my stock arm seems to fit fine with the covers it’s almost as if the bearings aren’t pressed in all the way but I had the shop who makes the arm install the bearings

Ask them what they have to say about the dust covers not fitting then

For sure headed back up there soon it’s hard to get a straight forward answer over the phone and I’ve had the bike in pieces for close to a year I should be able to ride it up there in the next couple weeks to have them look it over them selves

I never had a problem running either arm on my bikes. You’re fine not running the dust shields if you don’t ride in the rain. Also depends on what bearing the arm has cause some have actually bearings and some have brass sleeve bearings.
