SWINGARM AIRTANK QUESTION

I am having a swingarm modified to act as an Airtank.

What PSI can be stored in these configurations?

With this volume, how many shifts should I be expecting to get out of the air contained in the arm?

What information do you have with regards to using the swingarm as an air storage device for an airshifter?

The swing arm is sometimes used to store compressed air, typically for the air shifter.

I am having my extended swingarm modified to do this.
It will have two fittings on the top front to access the compressed air.

From what I understand, airshifters want about 125psi to operate properly.

My question is centric to volume.

How much volume of compressed air are poeple geting into thier swingarms?

How many shifts does this facilitate?

On my dragbike I run 120psi. I add nitrogen after every pass with a big tank at the trailer. Or you can add an onboard compressor to keep it filled. I tried running co2 into it, but the air pressure would go way up when it sat and cause me problems with my air clutch. I would say if your running co2 don't run it into your air tank. Run the shifter straight off the bottle. If you want to be self supported add an onboard compressor to the system. Then just turn it on after each pass. Only downside would be the moisture your putting into your system with air. Nitrogen has no moisture and is super stable.

Im talking on my gs1100 dragbike. On the busa I plan to put a c02 paintball bottle under the hump and runs the shifter straight off the bottle.

Cecil...I've got a friend with the CO2 setup on a 12...I think he has a 10oz bottle and it's supposed to be good for
over 400 shifts...There's a difference in the air tank and high pressure bottle...I'm thinking with you were just having a tank put in and tried to run CO2 then at some point the tank is not going to hold...I had an air to air racing shifter on my bike that with a full tank of air was only good for about 12 shifts to much trouble for me to refill tank after every pass needless to say its gone...Haven't made my mind that I want to install another...If I were it would more than likely be CO2...
 
I took the c02 back off before it was empty. You supposed to get a couple hundred shifts. I got my bottles at the local paintball shops. They fill them cheap. The regulators can be found here for about $30 less than at mps. You need the low pressure style. Also read about regulating the c02. http://www.palmer-pursuit.com/online-catalog/rock.htm
 
go with co2 a 1 lb bottle will go about 500 shifts,with a few fittings any paint ball shop can fill it
