I have been wanting to do a vertical swingarm side mount for my tag, but don't really know how to go about it, like exact location, tag light, use of kits...etc. wanted to see some pics please! thanks in advance, Jake

On another note:

the only thing that has been slowin this idea down is the "now-pointless" $90 I spent on my CompWerks undertail kit...:banghead:

< PM a $ amount, or small trade offer if interested in fender kit>

Dude, you should do a search and read about the problems, installations, etc. Also check your state laws.

Well I sure noticed from alot of members that Florida isn't really a trick-my-tag friendly state:laugh:

So I overcame laziness and did my homework on this topic within the org, and wow, ":repost:" doesn't even come close...:spank:my bad lol

but would still appreciate anyone's pics/advice... thanks

Has anyone actually been pulled over for no tag light on a motorcycle? Here in GA the law says "Must have tag light illuminating the tag to be visible at a distance of 30 feet", but we only use that for "PC" when fishing for DUI's. I dont know of anyone that has been pulled here for no tag light on a bike.

Here's what I have on Caesar...no lights yet, but I do have a light kit, just needs to be installed...it was fabricated by my ex-husband with a welder :)

It's just mounted on the swingarm...

I haven't had a light on mine for 4+ years, had an officer ride it, had another run the tags when a friend was riding it...no one has ever cited me for not having the light, but it's a risk you take if you choose to not put one there...I don't ride much at night anyway, so that might be why it's never been a problem...

From what I understand, FL is cracking down on it. I imagine with all the camera's replacing police officers around here, they will soon start cracking down on placement and illumination here too.

Yeah, it's definitely "at your own risk"...

It's a tough call, I like the look on certain bikes, however in NC and close to the Parkway you'll get pulled and ticketed for no lights on your tag when riding on the US Parkway, and also if your tag is up in front of your tire. They are pretty hard core about this.

Now the cool part is if you correct it and take the pictures or the bike to your court date they usually drop it if your record with the Feds is good.
