since I got my busa my kids say they want to ride it one day daughter 17 oldest son 12. pep boys has a pit bike made KC powersports 110 cc price is right at 800 been reading on other sites its a p.o.s china made poor quality and no parts available does any one here have one or know if it is that bad or am I better off with a used dirt bike thanks

I would think that you get a better deal on something online and that you would also have better luck finding parts for it if need be...

trust me when I say this.......DONT DO IT!!!! the post are right. the parts are not out there. I have a lady right now thats been waiting 6 months for a air filter. You would hate it once you got it.

I would start on a used dirt bike or somthing along that line.

If your interested I have in the shop right now a used 50, 65, and a 85.

good place to start for the younger ones, kinda small for the older ones.

Just a heads up.

Yup, DON'T DO IT!!!

ALL DAY we would have folks coming into the Shop needing parts for their "95 Honda XR100" we order the part, they come back an hour later saying it doesn't fit... Well after a little discusion turns out they were GUESSING cause it's a Pep Boys bike and the guy at Pep boys "SAID" Blah Blah Blah...

There is no way to get parts for them and you're local bike dealer will not only NOT be able to help, they will likely find it annoying that you didn't come to them first.

But yeah the problem is that they are NOT a supported Dealer Operation like Honda or Suzuki. You will get instructions to call the Company and if you do they will dance around and then tell you that the parts are in Japan Yadda Yadda...

SO, What to do? Go into your Dealer, tell them you want a Pit bike, a 50-100CC little pit bike and tell them you want a used one. Usually they will try to find you what you want. and Check the papers, LOTS and LOTS of pit bikes out there, folks buy them for their kids, they get ridden for a couple of years then they want something bigger.

No Fooling... The Daiper Bike thing is alive and well. TONS of Parts for Honda CRF50s. Guy at work has a 124cc Big Bore, All allay jobber that's about $14k worth of pit bike.

No Fooling, you can get some real life outta the 50's...

old bird,

Lookin for 1700 for the 85 and if you wont Ill meet you half way to save on shipping charges, say someplace like austin and Ill buy a beer or two, sound good?

I know nothing of the PEP boys crap bike. I suspect it's a jacked up POCKET BIKE and if so, will teach them NOTHING about actual riding. Go with the used dirt bike. At least motocycling physics and feel come into play with those. Anything less than those "fiddys" don't do REAL cycling physics with breaks, suspension, gas, leans, turns etc

jester found a used 125 yamaha near by for 1100 if its in good shape i may pick it up but thanks i will keep the 85 in mind

wwjd the pep boys bike actually has a 4 speed tranny a real clutch front and rear disk brakes four stroke engine and its as tall as the 125. 110cc engine they say it will do 55 mph the biggest problem is no parts if some thing breaks i think its made in china i may go with a used yamaha

Stay away from that crap!

Go out and pick up a used xr50 or xr70. Do some research...buy it right. Dam things are just about indestructable, and parts are readily available.

Cool thing is...once they have out grown it, you can recoup most of your investment as they hold thier value VERY well...
