TearDown Question

I am getting ready to fix my 2nd gear and I am in need of some confidence in being able to remove the lower engine case without disassembling the top end. In other words I do not want to pull the cylinder head and cylinder off.

Can this be done without adverse effects?

sweet, thanks guys. This saves alot of time and effort.

I am assuming that everything has to come off of both sides and then I can split the cases and fix my tranny. After I reassemble I will pull the cam cover off and do a valve adjust while I have it out of the bike.
