Technical Question

I need some help from the gear heads. Im worried about my bike. Heres whats going on.....

I was out riding this evening and about 25 minutes into the ride my FI light came on. It was running bad or showing signs of anything. But i pulled over at a gas station cuz I was worried. I thought let me turn it on and off and see if the light stays on. So i shut it off and restarted it and the light was off. I rode about an hour more or so and it never came back on. And i was getting on it hard to see if anything felt wrong but nothing did. It ran completely fine the whole rest of the ride and never came back on.

So my question is has anyone had this happen before and should I be worried?

My bike is stock but it does have a power commander on it loaded with the factory settings.

Thanks for any input guys.

I am trying to remember back a couple years, as it's been quite some time since I've seen anyone comment on the FI light. Seems like it a sensor or mapping jumped out of wack (even momentarily) that the light could come on and stay on until reset. In your case, it seemed to run fine and the light stayed off after a reset, so I don't think you should have much to worry about unless you see it triggered again. Maybe someone more recent and up to date on the codes will chime in.

the other day my bike kicked the f1 and died at a stop light. wouldn't start right up. pushed off the road and waited a minute and it started and ran fine ever since. who knows. just having a off day I guess

Have a look at all PCV connections . If a connector is lose ( not snapped in completely ) it could throw the light . Look at the air box temp sensor as well .

Thank you so much man that put my mind at ease a little bit. It really did run fine. I would notice if it didnt believe me.

I checked all the connections. They were all snapped in and in the right places. Where is the airbox temp sensor?

You can jumper out the dealer mode switch under your seat with a small piece of wire. the dust cap will hold it in. Just ride around in dealer mode for a while til you get the code.

Warning: The bike might idle funny and surge a bit at low RPM in dealer mode.
