HA DP…I definitely got em. I will try to post as much as possible. Most of the campgrounds I will stay at should have a phone line plug in.

Kawabuser…if I were to buy any more stuff, I might as well be going for good….the wife would be kicking me out the door! I will keep you guys up to date with my colorful commentary though..(yep, that outta be interesting)!!

I’m hittin’ the sack…2am comes early….strung so high right now, I don’t know if I can sleep anyhow..

Thanks for the good wishes….
Lakeman

I loaded up the Busa last night and took a 50mi. test ride before I leave on my trip (VA to SD .. ~3500mi. roundtrip). I had a Chase Harper 1560 Sport tankbag, Chase Harper Aeropac saddlebags, Chase Harper Aeropac trunk, a tent, sleeping bag and laptop computer (yep, still gotta communicate)….all bags are loaded to the gills….oh yeah, I took my favorite traveling companion too…my OH OH doll Valerie..HA!
Anyhow, the bike handled like a dream on the twisties and interstate as well….what a great bike!

Weather looks good from East Coast to the Midwest through next Wednesday, so I should have great riding weather.

I’ll be anxious to see how the bike performs on the trip…..it has been flawless for the first 4800mi.!!

Oh well, 18 hours before departure…. my adrenaline is pumping!!!

"In the wind!!!"

Hope you've got those curved inserts that go into the seat of your pants...you know...the IRON ones.

Will you be able to post here along your way and tell us about your scariest adventure each day?

Best of luck and be safe.

With a gps and a bike mounted satelite dish you could keep us informed in real time and with your bike cam, we all could enjoy your tour as well.

Have fun and obey the local speed limits!

Lakeman if you retrieve this I would love to go to South Dakota or Iowa etc... I live in MN and the weather sounds like it is going to be great here for the weekend. If you would like to meet up somewhere I'll try to make it. It should break up your trip a little too, I would think.
Let me know.

I also think it would be cool if
other members could meet up with
Lakeman on his journey. We should of
thought of this before. Help the guy
through the states. The Busa is a comfortable bike, but its no goldwing. that's a long ride.
