i just wanted to say thanks to everybody! i've talked to alot of you on the boards and the phones. and i can say that i've made alot of good friends. you guy's have shown me respect, now it's my turn to give it to you..thanks a bunch!!....you guy's help me out more than you really know..i've been the"guinea pig" for the 1430 busa. i hope all of you can sometime have the chance to do what i did and improve on it...theres up's and down's when you do something like this, but you guy's have made it easier for me....thanks again..frank

Frank it sounds like you went with the wiseco piston kit for your Busa. I hope every thing works out ok. I have been talking to a few engine builders and they tell me that with this particular kit you will be left with less than the mimimum amount of wall thickness on the block. Please keep us post on your succes.

ps: could you give us some details weather good or bad on the particulars ie. sleeves or recoating, how you/they got the NOS to work properly. General stuff no secrets neccessary.

Thanks to you, Frank and all the others for the education in race tuning. I have learned quite a lot from your posts.

..tffu, i did not go with wiseco.and i have never stated that i have...i have j.e pistons....the eng. builders down in fla. will tell you that stuff about 4mm bore, so you'll buy thier block...i'm sorry everybody on dragbike.com thinks i'm spraying with efi...i'm not, thats why i'm going to use carb's & dyna 4000. the bike will have efi only, at prostar. carb's/ nos will come later...i'm also looking for the efi/nos combination....it's to bad these engine builders scare you guy's off of the 4mm stuff.because your going to miss out on 30plus hp!...with the hayabusa block, renikosil and the right piston this is a VERY dependable street/drag and even tubro setup! NOBODY! has a 4mm setup in thier shop that can say that this is a over the limit bore deal! the next time somebody tells you that, ask them to PROVE it...there are two 4mm setup's in the USA and mine is one of them. i guess we'll have to show people that it works."guinea pigs"...remember,this is NOT the watercooler's of yesterday. this is tomarrow's technoligy......frank

Frank when we were running turbo with nos the wiseco`s would break the ring land between the top and second ring and also would seize much easier. We started running Arias pistons with great success but I have been told that they are not going to make bike pistons anymore. Heard Honda Jim was at J&E. The arias were heavier and did require more clearance but at least you could get a lot of passes out of them. From what buds at Carolina Cycle say J&E are tops...you know he would say that though...he is a wiseco, arias, j&e distributor. Not trying to sell someone something but he does give great prices....704 279 4478. They do great work but are a little slow on head turn around. Ask for James.

Frank I to heard the same thing about the wiseco pistons. Did you know that je also makes a big bore piston kit for the busa the size is a 1328 I believe don't quote me.If its not to late you might want to reconsider.

chris, wiseco is in the process of selling some of thier molds.i think a place in ill. called franx machine shop is ending up with some of them.....tffu,i'm at the final stages, unless that is a misprint why would i want that combo. 1430 is the max. you can go on the stock block. and alot of people would even say that is too much. as long as you keep your compresion low with this setup you'll be ok for a long time....frank

Hey Frank, when you run the EFI set up you might want to get 2 sets of 52mm Thottle bodies from the TL1000R and modify them to fit the Busa. It's a little easier then having the stock ones ported.

Frank, by the way, John Noonan is the head sales guy for moto pistons at JE in Huntington Beach. He has a low 9 second shootout GSX-R. Saw your post on the other forum... late.

thanks fastzx9, i researched mr.noonan. fond out quite a bit of stuff. i just was trying to figure out where he got his info. it's cleared up now.no problems...frank

either way there booth good pistons. it just that wiseco feel asleep a few years..j&e has a new compound that makes them the lightest and strongest out there right now....diffinatly something to think about if your going add nos or a turbo...frank

i've put very little attenion into the efi on this bike,at least until efi/nos thing is figured out...can you tell me if the busa's ecm will support this setup your talking about?....frank
