Thanksgiving Day

I let someone else prepare it. This seems to be the best way for me, this way I am able to supervise. It must come with a glass of egg nog however! :tounge:

I'm with Havoc - deep frying is unbelieveable - perfectly moist - perfectly cooked - if you've never tried it - you should. Lowes and Home Depot sell them and use Peanut Oil to cook them - you'll need 3 to 5 gallons.

Kent

I swing by Honey Baked Ham and pick up a nice big ass Ham the day before. That leaves the side which we go to a little Mom and Pop BBQ place down in the hood for some beans, Cornbread, and Sweet Potatos. That leaves the wife to crank up the pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and maybe some fresh bread...

We do our part to stimulate the economy and the wife actually gets to enjoy the day as well...

Smoked Turkey is awesome...here's how:

1. Thaw the turkey overnight-duh!

2. Stuff the turkey with your choice or cornbread or breadcrumb dressing.

3. Coat the outside of the turkey liberally with butter..it needs to be real butter, not margerine.

4. Place the prepared turkey inside a brown paper grocery bag. It's okay if it has printing on it.

5. Twist the open end of the bag shut. Make sure it's nice and tight.

6. Hold the bag up with the turkey inside.

7. Put you lips on the twisted end, then light the other end and suck real hard.

8. Now you've smoked your first turkey. How does it taste.

:bounce:

Just couldn't resist.

I tried this.

I couldn't keep it lit!

Sorry, couldn't resist either!

I try to leave the house early in the morning, and come back in the afternoon. Out of sight, out of mind - or harms way. This way I avoid all the pissing and moaning. The wife is never happy with the way it gets done. Fortunately we only get one dinner a year (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter). Her sister and mother get the other two.

Later,

Steve
