Fellow Busa enthusiasts,
The latest issue of Super Streetbike came out recently, and they had a 1/4 mile shootout between the GSX-R 1000 and the Mighty Busa.
Both bikes where modified in the roughly the same manner (extended swingarm, -1/+2, etc.), with the same rider.
The Busa actually broke into the 8s! The rider (Larry Laye) has some serious skills.
Check it out. One of my favorite parts:
"There you have it -- the Hayabusa is still the quarter-mile king."
The fastest run the 1000 had was 9.14. Damn impressive. In the end, the torque difference is what's listed as the deciding factor 84.5 vs. 105.2 ft-lbs.
All across the globe, Hayabusa owners are standing a bit taller (and riding a bit faster).
