the killing field

we debate about kill boxes under different topics regularly.if you have an mps kill or other .rev your bike up to 8-9000rpm then activate kill only and see how much the rpm drops (not while driving)this gives an indication on cycles lost(including ignition recovery)it must not loose more than 200 rpm or you've got it too slow and you must change your point or method of actuation. on your box setting if the kill is not at its shortest setting when you ride .this means the same.

where is the actuator located?.using the hs3 will move shifter faster than you so i'd get that to use in conjunction with your kill.or you need to back off the kill then start moving your activator switch till its so late in the movement it won't shift and then go back to the last point in that adjustment when it shifted.then start adjusting your kill quicker.this is your first move before all others .your probably activating it a little early and the kill is completed before the shift is.

and yes i foot shifted for a while! then got the hs3.but by that time i had changed boxes.just its alot easier with the hs3 when taking off and trying to get your feet up and shift when your hanging over the fairing.it takes nit picking to get it where you want it but worth the effort.does your light come on on your bike?

Motorhead,

Are ya footshifting? If I set my MPS to 50ms I don't get the 1-2 off all the time. Had to back it up to about 60-70ms. All the other shifts are no prob..just the 1-2 is a longer throw.

no, you want to buy one.dont use the horn to slow.put swich at sprocket cover off of shift shaft uor setup misleads you.its too difficult for you to sequece the button and shift .dont preload shifter or you'll wear the sides of the shift fork wherethey ride in gearthey are'nt made to take long only brief side loads.

Motorhead,

Actuator is me, preloading the shifter, using horn...Yes the light is coming on. Anything above 3K turns it on...When the box detects more than two missing coil pulses it triggers the light. At 10,500 it's 5.7 mS per pulse.

I drew up a ckt to fool the box so the light wouldn't come on, but have decided to use the light as a shift light instead. What is hs3??? Not familiar with it.

Started leavin with foot up (mx style) to help 1-2 shift...still gettin used to it. Too cold to practice here for a while...have to spend time on motor tweaks instead!!
