A woman was in town on a shopping trip.
She began her day finding the most perfect shoes in the first shop and a really gorgeous dress on sale in the second. In the third everything had been reduced to just £5. Right in the middle of her rummaging through all the goodies on sale, her mobile phone rang. It was the family's female doctor notifying her that her husband had just been in a terrible accident and was in critical condition in the ICU.
The woman told the doctor to inform her husband where she was and that she would be there as soon as possible.
As she hung up she realised that she was leaving what was shaping up to be her best day ever in the shops. She decided to get in a couple more shops before heading off to the hospital. She ended up shopping for the rest of the morning, finishing her trip with a cup of coffee and beautiful slice of calorie free cheese cake, compliments of the establishment.
Then she remembered her husband. Feeling guilty, she dashed off to the hospital, and she saw the doctor in the corridor. She asked about her husband's condition.
The lady doctor glared at her and shouted, "You went ahead and finished your shopping trip didn't you!!! I hope you're proud of yourself! While you were out enjoying yourself for hours on end, your husband has been languishing in Intensive Care. It's just as well that you went ahead and finished your shopping trip because it is more than likely that it will be your last. For the rest of his life your husband will require round the clock care and guess what? You'll have to be his carer."

The doctor chuckled and said, "Just kidding!! He's dead. What did you buy?"
