I am thinking about trading somebody my gsxr for his busa. His is an 07 Hayabusa with 6800 miles on it. It has never been dropped or wrecked. It is in great condition and has some after market stuff done to it. I have an 04 gsx-r750 that is mechanically stock but has a little after market body work like turn signals and fender eliminator. It has 6200 miles and its in perfect condition.

This guy wants to trade bikes and $2200 on top of my bike.

Any opinion if I should take the deal?

I was thinking about trading my Busa for a 750, or a 1000. So I feel yah on this. I wouldn't do $2,200.00 on top though. Because you could probably sell your Busa for enough money to get a 750. Right now there seems to be a lot of people wanting to get rid of there bikes. My little brother just got an 07 GSX-R 600 for $5,900 with 2000 miles on it.

I guess it's just .....How bad do you want it ?

I just sold my 04 750 for $5000. The KBB is $4900. Maybe a trade and say $1500. That would seem to be fair. I purchased my 06 with 9000 miles for $6100 in perfect condition. just my 2 cents. Good Luck

Check out 2nd gear, if it's ok then do it.... you won't regret it

Read his post. Other way around. Trading his 750 for a Busa.

I also agree $2200 on top is to much. $1500 sounds better.

Yea welcome! :beerchug:

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the 1k and the busa pretty similar in price? I know we are not talking about brand new ones, but that seems like a ton of boot to me.

I agree with the others, if you want one, sell yours and put some with it if needed and buy a busa.

$4950 is KBB value for the 750
$8185 is KBB for the hayabusa.

Even if you don't use the KBB for selling value it is still a fair representation of the difference in value.

His bike is worth over $3k more than yours, is newer, and mileage will hurt the resale value on the hayabusa less once they pass the 10k mark, I think the $2200 is more than fair in this case. Go for it.

It really depends on what you want,,,,sounds like a good trade,,I dont know what the upper post meant by 2nd gear problems,,,,did 07 have them? I fthe bike is sound and a busa is whatyou want,,thendo it,,he would probually do 2000 or a little less,,people sometimes will to get what they want,,,Who iniated the trade? you or him? if you did,,then maybe the bikes ok,,but with your 750,,you already know what you have,,sounds like a sweet bike,,,but to each his own,,I like the busa and more power, and longer wheelbase and less[ seatpostion] aggressive,,,Even if your do over pay on a bike or car,,,which in this case I think yout geting the better deal.....Ive gave a little more b4 to get what I wanted,,,,best wishes,,,,,and have someone look the bike over,

Oh wow, I didn't even notice the year difference. :banghead:

Datsun is right, that is a good deal. DOH!!

It's really not a bad deal, and definitely much more hassle free than trying to sell your bike and then go out and find another Gen I in good shape. Although I think you could make out slightly better if you did it that way.

I wouldn't give him an extra 2200 on top of your 750. I would maybe do 1k or 1500 with your bike for his 'Busa.
