My bike is a 2004 and is all stock. Iran great yesterday and today it would not start. It spins over fine, just no start. The FI light is on and everything powers up just fine.

I have checked the following:

All fuses
relays
wiring......I did find this odd. The plug for the fuel pump has no power going to it on either side. Nothing is grounding out anywhere and sometimes the pump will run and sometimes it wont. When it does, it will fire off. I tapped on the pump a few times and it ran through its cycle and them the bike fired up. Now the pump will not run at all but everything else has power....??????????

I am lost here guys. If it is a bad pump there should still be power on the harness side right? Or does it need to be connected to have a ground????

Thanks,
TJ

Charge the battery first!
It sounds like a junk battery. On a Busa, if the voltage drops below 12volts, the bike will generally still turn over, however the coils will not fire!

+1 that is generally the first thing you want to look at, it all starts with the batter, and there is no tell when they go bad, they just do.

I had it on the charger and the pump would run when it felt like it. When the pump ran it would fire off. I will check voltage as well.

Thanks

Check your battery to be sure it has a full charge. You might re-check your connections; however, it might be a clogged fuel filter or a relay or kick stand switch

If I read this right, the thing runs after he cycles the fuel pump... question is... what interlocks keep the pump from running... kickstand switch etc...

sorry I have not looked at the schematics for the electrical system and it is too late tonight for me... but I am sure someone can add some comment :)

I had the same prob on an 01 and it was the fuel pump relay. $35 part and I got a 98mph in a 65mph on the way to the dealer so my bike had a $400 fuel pump relay. HAHA.
