Why does every concept bike maker use a V-twin for the engine?

Saw two of these at Laguna Seca...met the guys who are fabricating them...Just a plain azz weird machine...as these guys were coming down Cannery Row in Monterey after races on Friday afternoon...there were literally a thousand bikes on the street...everyone turned to look at them...these guys were standing on the stirrups and crawling along...somehow..and this may be weird...but I flashback to the movie Alien when I see the nose of this abomination...remember the scene where Ridley is the last member alive and she is in the escape pod...and the alien starts to crawl out of the wall with all of the wiring harnesses and pipes...there is just something about the head of the Alien and the front view of this bike...I bet Saiid could pull up a picture of that...Saiid u have an incredible memory for such trivia...

About the only interesting thing on that bike is the arrangement of the hand controls. They stole the gas-in-frame idea from Buell, and from the article, the huge front tire makes cornering difficult. Build interesting bikes if you must, but if you expect any real interest they need to be interesting in a functional way (see: Tony Foale, John Britten, Lazareth). There are already plenty of custom builders that make nearly-unusable bikes (see: OC and all the other imitators).

It's funny folks mention Wall-E because this bike is a natural progression in the evolution of humans on motorcycles. As the general populace becomes more and more obese while still maintaining the desire to enjoy motorcycling, this type of new motorcycle will become commonplace. Get used to it...the fatter folks get, normal motorcycles (even the mighty Hayabusa) will not be able to carry these immense body frames. Motorcycles for fatties.

Seriously, I think the bike would stir responses wherever it went, much like the Hayabusa did when it was first launched.
