Hey, I've got one of those pesky ZX-9's. The only difference is mine is the old, heavy, boat anchor for a motor 95's. I'll be down in Texas in October for the Prostar event if you feel like burning me down.

EVERY TIME, and I mean every time I go out
street race I have some buddy of a guy on a
ZX9R try to set up a race with me. And let me tell they have been word for word.

ZX9R buddy: Hey so-n-so wants to run you on
on his zx9
1300R me: I have already races some and I
beat them.
buddy: Oh well this zx9r is really fast. Its
faster than any other 9.

me: Oh okay lets see.

3.2.1 ..... He lost :)

Its kinda funny I think, I have race 3-ZX9 all to the same end. I was get'n ready to
go run an R1 but the cops show'd up and weekend before that we were even in the street ready to go as the cop was pulling up so I didnt get to run him either.

I know its all for fun, but as serious as these people are I almost believe they think that they would realy win !!

*climbing into my flames suit*
Remember its all in good fun until someone
gets burnt!!!

Hey Speed. I'll be at the Prostar event in October here in Houston also. You coming down? I have a clutch mod I'm adding to my XX to keep up with these beasts.

Hey Eric, what's going on my man? You little devil you, got some tricks up your sleeve for me in October, huh?

Speed, tell you what.....I'm sure you are a great rider (in your own mind) on a definately very fast machine, but for some reason I feel like I have to defend the Kawasaki name. Since you were the first guy I saw touting about killing one ZX-9 after another, I thought I would give you the opportunity to kill one more.... or try. I'll be at Houston in October riding a green 95 ZX-9 if you want to add another to your long list. I should be pretty easy to find since I'll be running pathetically slow times on a dated machine! Just remember... I am coming from California... and I come to win... so bring a diary full of stories and a pocketbook full of dead presidents.

Can't wait to eat that great Tex/Mex cuisine and join in on that great Texas streetbike scene! Late.

I might be there, gotta see whats going on that weekend. :) you crack me up. I know there are some fast ZX9 out there but hmm can we say that just because an article came out about a ZX9 Dragster goes 9's, do ALL zx9's go 9s ? I think not, most street racers dont get it!

eheheh I can't help but laugh when some dude sends his buddy over to ask me to race, like he's too cool to get off his bike or maybe it would throw off his karma ?
But hey It would nice to alteast see someone as I beat them!( or ahh lose :p ) Unlike the totally fairing blowing, chain drag'n all from the drop of the hand. :) Its lonely at that top heehehe

Hey you know what ? Thats cool :) What is the date of the race in October?

I guess since I have til October I have no reason not to have my notch clutch down now is there ? :)

Its all fun and games until someone breaks the lights before ya :) I will definately try to make those races.

October 16 & 17, Houston Raceway Park. I assume there will be a test and tune there that Friday as well.... should be fun. You see that's where I'm different than the guys you spank on the street, I'll commend you if you break the beams first.

Notch clutch? If you are talking about the grabby clutch in those, Brock Davidson makes a kit for those... you can get them at Schnitz Racing. Wouldn't want you to have any excuses. Late.

How bout a rundown on your ZX9? My son has a 97 ZX9R that is all box stock, red, pretty bike. He got it last May new. Seems like a solid good handling fast bike. We are curious about successful mods for this bike, thanks

yea that was notchy, but you got the picture.

I hope to have one modified in a month or so. Long before October :)

CUZ! if you as fast as you think you are I would hate to the front wheel in the air as I go by :) :) hehehehh ah just kidding. No really I think it will be a good race, better than these would be street racers.

(not all street racers are bad riders, so no flames please, you know what i mean 90% )

Could see ya in October :>

Fitch, I couldn't get through to your e-mail. Send me a message and I'll re-send the message I typed you. Have lots of things to say, but don't want to bore folks with miniscule ZX-9 mods.

Kevin

Indeed, you are correct. The "true" street racers make up the majority of the best riders. They ride many bikes, they deal with the elements of the street, and have wallets to back them up!

Having a clutch that doesn't modulate like it should is a real bummer. Been there and done that. Doesn't make for real good e.t.'s either.

October it is... and I am as fast as I think... got the slips to prove it! Can't argue with the Compulink.
