Why is there a one hour difference in times shown when logged in and logged out ? If logged in Threads/posts show one hour later than if logged out ?
I started this thread at 12:55 am https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/random-thoughts/134920-happy-birthday-america.html
Actually almost an hour late but anyway what's weird is if logged in it shows start time as 12:55 am but if I log out and look at it it shows 11:55 pm as start time (meaning 1st post) ?
:dunno:

Well it is rather simple.. its called TIME ZONES!!!.. while you are in 1 time zone the server is in another, thus stamping the time in which the thread was started/replied to by the server time not your time. (Unless you happen to be in the same timezone.)

I believe you are 1 hour ahead of the server as I believe the server to be in CST I could wrong in where it is located though as I do not really know. Cap or a mod could prolly tell you what time zone the server is in.

Lavinrac I understand about the time zones but when logged in it shows one time and logged out it shows one hour earlier ? Why ?
Same thread / same post look at anyone you want when logged in then log out and go back it shows it one hour earlier ? That's what I'm curious about ?

I don't see a difference in the thread start time while logged in or logged out. This "might" have to do with the time you set your profile to vs the time a "visitor" would see as they don't set a time zone they are in, which could possibly be defaulting them to server time.

If you didn't set a time in which you are in and it is still the default which should be server time then I have no clue either.

If im right hope it helps if im wrong then someone please explain this phenomenon cause I have no other thoughts as to why.

P.S. on a side note just setting location could also set the profile time zone. Might check that out. *shrug*

P.S.S. I found the time zone setting for my profile under User CP->Setting->Edit Options->Time Zone. Again I could be completely wrong in this its just my best guess at this point.

You are correct. The servers are located in CST and the default settings are set for that time zone. In your profile you selected what time zone you are in and the board shows everytihing based on that when you are logged in. :beerchug:
