Throttle bodies

While sitting at a light, or just stopped, my bike will be sitting at 1200 rpm, and then it will start to rev up by itself to like 1500-2000 rpm, do I need my throttle bodies adjusted ? how much would this cost to have done ? (yes I'm an idiot !!)

could this be the need for a custom map ?

06 le....almost 9,000 miles

Thanks again !

Well the idle will wander as the throttles get farther, and farther out...so yes. Some are breathing faster than the others and it'll drag it up...get'em synched asap....and every 7500 after that. Also, while you're in there check for disconnected vacuum hoses.....

I set my idle at 1200, and when it sits tight and still with a minor wander, it's the sweet spot between 1150-1200. Right on the money. Now getting them done will cost you a twelve pack of Dr. Pepper......be at my house next Sunday between noon and midnight. I'll be tearing down my pop's 305 all day....

I'll get you set up....oh crap you live in Delaware....well get a move on....should take you about four days to get here....but GOING HOME WILL BE SMOOOTH..........

I appreciate the offer, but that's just a little too far, You're the man Spud !!!

Then contact your "best" local tuners...and find out how much they want to synchronize your throttles and what method they use. A decent tuner, with a set of mercury stix, should get you nice and tight. If they use the vacuum gauges, call another until you find someone with the "Mercury-touch". Then tell him you want it set at 1200 and he'll send you out the door smiling. It's way different when you get them tuned right, and the machine responds. Smoother throttle, smoother acceleration, just more solid-feeling power. And, of course, the engine will always throttle down to the set throttle rpm. No wander.....

"AND" if all else fails, I'll drive out and set them myself. You play with the stix long enough and it takes "literally" minutes to get everything set proper.....most of the time is lifting the hood, plugging and rerouting certain lines, and getting the engine warmed up to running temperature.
