Throttle body sync

After having all of the recall work done about two weeks ago, I finally got around to checking on the power. Ran it up to about 5K in 1st gear let off then hit it hard to get the front end up and it was a no go. Not enough power. I had tried this right after the 600 mile break-in and it had plenty of power then. The bike runs smooth and pulls hard otherwise. Could this be a throttle body sync problem? TPS is adjusted. Seems like the initial kick just isn't there. I wonder that if the sync was off then the cylinders may not be coming on close enough together. Engine is stone stock. Don't have a vacuum gauge but do have the shop manual. What else might be causing this?? Any ideas on vacuum gauges?? I want my power back! The motorcyle exhibition is in Seattle this weekend. I sat on the ZX-12. Felt a little lighter than the Busa but I coudn't hear any gas sloshing in the tank(or anywhere). I found the ram air intake to still be very ugly looking. Also the swingarm looked a little weak to me-might be twitchy on the track. The Honda 929 and RC51 looked much nicer than the ZX12. Haven't been to one of these shows in over 20 years. It's fun to go and see all the great bikes and already have the greatest! Ducs,Aprillas, and MV Augusta Oros were beautiful and very pricey. I'll keep my UJR(Universal Japanese Rocket). After a couple of hours of walking around the only item I got was my free cap. Had a nice talk with the Bridgestone rep.

While I'm not sure if this is your power problem, I would suggest checking it just the same. Get a Morgan Carb Tune II. I purchased one a few months ago. It's a quality tool. Even though it's shipped from the UK, I had mine in a week. Cost was I think about $70. You could get the cheap mercury stix, but you can't just toss them in the drawer when done.

P.S. When I did my last check, I hooked my mercury stix up just to check the CT II and they were both dead on.

I'm also is having the same loss of power since I had my fuel filter replaced about two weeks ago.My bike does not respond like it did,I know the tech forgot to put the vacuum hose back on for the air box and I'm wonder if he did the fue pump filter screen cleaning correctly.Reading some of the other posting about the screen being put back on correctly on the fuel pump.I'll check my bike to make sure everything was done correctly.

Raptor all throttle body balancing does is give you a smooth idle, which gives you a couple of extra benefits in addition to just a smooth idle.

When your bodies are balanced you get instant off-idle response for launching, like from 1,150 rpm to 3,000 rpm. Which means your problem is more likely what Cisco says it is since your response weakness is at 5,000 rpm and up.

The second thing about balanced throttle bodies is that when you go throttle off for engine braking then crack it for another downshift, the engine will rev clean for you.

Regular balancing is very worthwhile and easy, but not many people do it.
