throttle clamp recommendations?

I recently went on a highway road trip and got minor hand cramps. I need a throttle clamp, but don't want get one of those "cramp buster" clip ons. I wish the Busa had a cruise control, but I can understand it's not all that safe. However, I think this will also help me keep my speed constant. I can easily be doing 95 in a 65 and not even realize it! Thanks.

I've had "NEP Throttle Lock" for years, and pretty happy with it.

If you truly wish it had cruise cotrol, them put cruise on it. There have been a couple of realy good write ups on the install here.

That's a good question. I've been wondering the same thing. I often drive on the interstate for up to 45 minutes, so I'm curious about the responses regarding what works, what is overrated, and what to stay away from.

Throttlemeister works great as a throttle lock. Do a search and you will see that the majority of the people here recomend it. I am one of them.

I've seen one on a gen 2 that you push with your thumb and if you hit the brakes it releases, not sure on the name though. I'd definately check out some write ups on the true cruise control.

The curise control is fairly easy to install, I did it (search for it, several write ups). There is a vacuum version and an electronic one. I started with the vacuum version and switched to the electronic. Get on the highway, get to the speed you want and press the button, works just like a car cruise. You really can't beat this and it is the only real solution. With throttle locks you have to constantly adjust them unless you are on a dead flat road. Another benifit is zero tickets - no more getting caught with the throttle slipping up!

However If you don't want to go to this trouble, there is a throttle lock called the Breakaway Cruise Control. It is a bit expensive but much better than the others I have tried like the Throttle Miester.

This is the cruise control kit, see the install threads for the specific kit that works with the Hayabusa. These take a medium skill level and about 3 hours to install including pulling the plastics. Not rocket science and well worth the effort as far a riding comfort. I ride on interstate roads to and from my favorite back roads so it's nice to rest the wrist for a minute.

I bought a NEP throttle lock, but damn! I got the one for a Honda.

Questions: Was the NEP easy to install? Was there enough gap between the grip to simply slide it in? The gap looks kinda tight to simply slide it in without having to remove the grip. thanks!

I have the kaoko brand which i brought for 140 bucks not sure if i have spelled it right i read the reviews on them before i purchased it which most people gave good feedback but not really happy with it yet :banghead:maybe i am to used to my other touring bike which has electronic cruise on it as standard

Would this work on gen1?

Don't return the NEP throttle lock - just get a Honda bike, LOL.

Seriously, it's pretty thin - 2.2 mm thick (just measured). I had to slightly move the rubber sleeve on the left side of the rubber grip which goes around the white plastic underneath, but it might fit even without that.
