Throttle positioning spring

How do you guys and gals like the spring tension on the throttle? Mine is a bear for sure. It there a lighter spring one can purchase? Cruise is the only relief to relax grip but that not always an option on those twisty roads

Mine doesn't seem excessive. Perhaps a few drops of oil down the cables would improve things.

Since you're in the Gen3 forum, I'm guessing that this is what you are probably looking for.

You know, I had the dealership install heated handgrips as part of the sale. Maybe its something they did. If you guys don’t have an issue maybe it’s my new heated throttle.
If the throttle closes slowly or heavily, the grip may be dragging, and causing your problem.
But, if the throttle snaps closed easily, then the grip is likely installed correctly.
This is the first time I've heard of gen3's having a heavy throttle, but it's obviously an issue since there's already a lighter aftermarket spring available.
I did twist the throttle on the one gen3 that I sat on, and noticed nothing unsual about it.
Maybe there are some bikes that ended up with heavier springs, that were out of spec, who knows.

The wiring on my heated grips took some fiddling. I've never had them before. Wow. They are amazing. Sooo nice.

Oh! And my bar end throttle lock was dragging so I fiddled with that too.

If my gen 3 is ride by wire, then why do we have cables to the throttle grip? I thought ride by wire gave it a lighter feel. I’ve got to get a lighter spring for it. Maybe I’m just used to a cramp buster on the throttle.

Opened all my stuff up the other day and noticed that I accidentally ordered 2 of these springs... If you'd like, I'll cut you a deal and get it shipped out to you.

Because it’s a pseudo ride-by-wire setup. They still have cables running down to the throttle bodies.. or the sensor to determine throttle position. Then a stepper motor, (I assume) to drive the TB plates, etc..
