Throttle response

Lately, I've noticed that when I want to finesse my way through a tight curve, the throttle seems to put too much gas to the engine, and the bike jumps instead of speeding up smoothly.

I've checked the cable and it is tight--no slop. Maybe my touch is off.

Anyone have anything similar?

I did when I first got the bike, but that was just me.

I agree with the above on just kick it up a gear ! Then, NO problem with the instant jerkyness . That's definately what I do in the wet for just the same reason

Yeah I had that problem. I was using that paddle thingy on the throttle. I was going thru a round-a-bout, and almost killed myself. Other than that no problems

Exactly why I don't like those paddle things on the throttle ! Hit a bump and "WHAMO" you go from 30 to 80 mph in a nano sec

Thanks guys. Riding the clutch more and being in a higher gear I will try. I'm almost always in first when I notice this.

Check your cush drive, If it has a little slop in it then it will feel like the throttle is too sensitive when it is actually the movement in the cush
