Throttle stop screw

NICE N EASY

Registered
Fellas,
in an attempt to prevent the idle from dropping, I removed the throttle stop screw and applied some clear nail polish to act as a mild adhesive. However, despite all my efforts, it will not screw back in either with or without the spring. I've tried nail polish remover, wd-40, nothing works and I've stripped the Phillips head portion of the screw, so I have to trurn the screw manually. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Rafael

Yea... that was a bad idea... You should have went with blue loctite instead. I used blue loctite and it is still screwable, but doesn't vibrate out like it used to...

Try brake cleaner or paint remover to get the nail polish off. Use a q-tip to apply so you don't get any on the painted surfaces or anything that may get damaged. I got some killer paint stripper from Checker Auto Parts that will lift the paint from damn near anything in 20 minutes and then you just wipe the wait off...
