Ti Force Exhaust

Has anyone come up with a definiative answer to the remapping problem associated with installing a ti-force exhaust. Must you run a piggy back ecu like a power commander? Is there once type of commander that is better than another? What are the pro's and con's of each one?

If you want the best for your bike then yes, you need to have it tuned.

I would highly recommend a Power Commander tuned by a dyno jet certified tuning center. You can go to their web site and they will tell you who's certified in your area.

There are a few things out there you can use to tune your bike. Like I said though I'd recommend the Power Commander as it's basically the best out there. The Bazzaz is pretty good as well but not very many people are using them quite yet.

You can have your bike tuned with the Teka SFI box and you won't need any piggy back system but that's pretty much a joke to be quite honest. They only allow you to tune in throttle percentages and they aren't even giving you as many as the Power Commander, not to mention the power commander also tunes in RPM increments of 250 along the whole power band.

Can anyone vouch for how well the bike runs after installing a Ti-Force exhaust and a Power Commander? I know it adds power, but I'm more interested in reliablity, looks, and the sound. Does it start up as easy and run as smooth as stock?

I have just installed the titanium to 380mm carbon single sided TiForce on my 08' and got a pipercross filter and a map from gpw It doesn't feel like the same bike the loss in weight alone is tremendous and the torque and power improvement is very noticable.  It is one of the best sounding systems I have ever heard on a bike I am extremely pleased, and I haven't even done any tweaking of the map on a dyno to make it custom to my bike Greg sent me a great map(Kudos to GPW)

.  You will not be disappointed in any way except for a lighter rear pocket but that too will be a loss of weight only making you faster

I would definitely go the extra step and put a programmer on if I had already spent the money on the TiForce, I promise you will love it.

P.S. I have only received compliments on how good and clean it looks.

If the exhaust system has an O2 bung for the lambda sensor than your bike will run just as smoothly as it did stock with the added benefit of power and sound. The stock ecu adjusts great to aftermarket exhausts and air filters and such without a PCIII.

If you are looking for that last 2% improvement maybe it is worth it. Maybe.

The TiForce system does have an o2 sensor bung, I did not try my bike without the programmer so I cannot give you a comparison of with and without the programmer. If it is performance you seek don't half step go with a programmer or a bazazz or something of the sort. Thats my thoughts on it anyway.

There are several threads here that show the A/F results posted from dyno runs with aftermarket exhausts and air filters etc., that show the stock ecu responding very well and the closed loop system doing what it was designed to and that is respond to changes with a near perfect 13.5 to 1 or 14 to 1 A/F ratio. That does not seem to me like half stepping, it seems like saving $255.00 on the PCIII and more $ on a dyno tune that may not be necessary for the average everday rider. Now If you are drag racing or spending a lot of time on the track maybe that last 1-2 horsepower means a lot to you. But as far as smoothness goes the 08's mapping is very good. On an almost 600lb bike when full of fluids, 1 or 2 horsepower can not be felt. Also, you then have the advantage of not messing with the stock systems to the point where the dealer starts to raise an eyebrow over warranty isssues. If you are using the stock closed loop system only with no piggy backs, you are covered. The addition of a full system does not void your warranty. I say, ride it first, then if for some reason you feel you must spend the extra $500 + for a PCIII and mapping, do so. But that $500 sure would add up to a nice windscreen and top end rear sets.

Add 1-2 hp here and 1-2 hp there and soon you are ahead of those who don't have those extra hp, now with that said you are correct to the person using the busa as a commuter a programmer may not mean a hill of beans so to speak. Now I didn't buy the busa because of strict comfort if that was the case I would have bought a harley bagger, I bought it for its head turning looks and stunning performance. I don't go to the track everyday but if I am out on the road or red light to red light and someone else no matter what bike they are on be it a zx14 or another 08' I want every edge I can get including 1-2 hp here and there. Yes the ecu performs great untouched but things can be better if they couldn't the products wouldn't be proven. I see and understand your side and I hope you see mine of wanting every bit that my bike has got just in case I need it. To make a long story short as cblast stated put a system on it try it out you can always go out and purchase a programmer if you feel you need it or want it. I wasn't trying to insinuate anything by the half stepping phrase just the southern slang coming out of me sorry if I came across wrong.

1 - 2hp with just a PC? That'd be on the low end of things. Depending on how far out it is you can pick up more than that easily.

It really doesn't matter though, whatever makes you happy. If you have the extra money and want to have your bike running perfect then get the PC with a proper dyno tune. The stock ECU with O2 will keep things on the safe side. I'd still at least get it on the dyno and make sure things are all good. Each bike will react differently. Why not spend the extra $50 to have a few runs done and hell you'll get the HP/TQ numbers it's making out of it as well.

If you purchase anything from us you get map support even if you did not buy your pipe with us.

Greg, I got the TiForce 380mm CF 4-2-1-2 from you, and I've got a PCIII waiting for install too. Any chance I can get the map from you now so I can test it against the map they tune on the dyno after everything gets installed? (Uh, can you have two maps stored at the same time?) I'm still new to this stuff so I'm pretty retarded over all about it.

You can add the PCIII hub with map switch allows you to run either map at the flick of a switch. Wheelie (member) is running our map at the track right now with Pipercross RACE and short stacks along with Ti-Force 4-2-1. He lives in Texas and the map was created here in MD. I am sure it will work and I plan to keep tweaking it as I get more 08's with the same set-up in here for tuning.

Not to jack the thread, but what you can do is have more than one map stored on your laptop (as many as you want) and you can run the map compare feature right from the PC application and it will show where you are experiencing differences. That might save you a few bucks from purchasing a hub, but if you are after seeing the difference in actual power between the two maps than a hub will be necessary to switch between the two on the dyno. That 4-2-1-2 system is about the sexiest out there!

I can't disagree with you there! Then again, that Duc is pretty sexy, and I plan on seeing it in person when I make it home and we are out riding! I've already downloaded the map right from Dynojet, but seeing as how I'm still in Iraq, I won't get to use it for some time. I'm also going to have my bike tuned before I even get it so we'll see how they do as well.

I'm just going to through out a guess here, and since I don't know many other lakes (I hope it is a lake) that look like that... is that Green Lake?

Wow!, how in the heck did you geuss that Army!

Yup, green lake, right by the flagpole.

Wait a minute, I took a bunch of pics on that trip, I also took one on the peninsula by the beach in Bremerton.  Anyway, great geuss, I took a half dozen at green lake and all over during the course of a weekend riding trip.

She is certainly picture worthy. I'm also born and raised Everett, and stationed at Fort Lewis, so I know the area a little bit. Been a long while since I've been to Green Lake. I may need to take a picture of my bike in the very same spot

I'm going to go crazy with the pictures and I hope I have some really good ones to show everyone here.
