Coming home today from work and within 1.5 miles of destination. Cop said 52 in a 35. He was probably right, I wasn't in a hurry and felt like I was poking along. This was the first time in a year and half I've seen a cop running radar on this road and it would be my luck to get caught. I live in a somewhat rural area, and this road is a very good road, smooth and wide. The last ticket was about the same in another city, on my way to work, 65 in a 55 about 2 years ago. Probably should just consider myself lucky never to have gotten caught when I was really rolling.

Sorry to hear it....
I dont often ride to work but when I do, I my cruise control.. "Throttlmeister" it helps me to keep and maintain a legal speed...

Boring though it may be...

Does it do any good to fight it even if they have proof you've done it?
Yes it does... The "Proof" is only "Evidence" and you need enough of it to overcome any doubts in a jury or judges mind.. People are acquitted everyday of things from minor traffic infractions to murder. There are a whole list of legalities that the City,County, and State have to abide by when running radar or any other speed measuring device on a road/highway, not to mention requirements pertaining to the officer regarding training, experience, etc..

You don't have to lie about your speed or say you were not speeding, you just have to make them prove that you were, and that they went about it in a legal way (i.e. radar calibrated/road survey's/engineering studies, etc...)...

It is our legal system, you should always take advantage of the right you have to make sure it is working properly...
