I have a 09 busa with less than 5000 miles on it. when i crank it up theresa ticking sound on the right side. Any thoughts?

could be many things... does the ticking increase when the rpms increase? does it go away when it warms up?... any other info u can add?

My '08 can really sound nasty when I crank it until the RPMs come up and the top end gets well lubed. How long ago did you ride ? How long ago did you change the oil ? How many miles on that oil change ?

It's just doubtful that you have a cam chain or clutch bolt issue. Top end or bottom end ? If it's in the bottom, pull the clutch in and release it and see if the noise changes or goes away.

You need to ride that beast more often!

I ride every day... almost. Yes when it warms up it usualy goes away. I changed the oil at 3000 miles there are about 2000 on this one. the oil level is right in the middle of the the markers per the manual. I also put a set of voodoos on it and a bazzaz box. At 90 mph it sounds and feels like the bike is gonna fly apart.

Does it go away when you pull in the clutch? If so then it might be the clutch bolts coming loose, There was a problem with so 08's and some of the 09's and there is a recall on some of them, If it isnt that then it is probably just the normal sound that they all make when you first start it, Mine is very noisy also when first started.

Mine does it too and I had the recall performed on the clutch. It is normal.
