Is there a way to tie these bikes down without putting a load on the suspension.
I have a Kendon Dual ail trailer for hauling my Duc and Busa but tryin to find a way to tie them down without compressing the forks.
Thanks
Ron

??? Excuse me brother but could you help me understand why you wouldn't want to compress the forks? I think I could understand not bottoming out the suspension but, if I understand the tie down process, I don't believe a lot of compression is necessary. Just curious though. And :welcome: to the .oRg! :beerchug:

Just wanted to see if there was a way to tien them down without compressing the forks.
I have been tieing my bikes downwith a canyon dance for my jap bikes and loops for my Duc for years.

Has that been working? I think some of my concern would be with the amount of jounce in the unweighted suspension of the bike(s) with the suspension of the trailer. Your trailer does have suspension, doesn't it? Or maybe no?

Baxley sport chock. Two straps on the rear pulling forward, out and down and your all set.

I garee that I am not going to put any load on my suspension.
I am currently finishing up a way to do it.

I agree that a Baxley is needed for sure.
I also agree that 2 straps from the rear, frontwards are needed.

I am making a system with threaded rod trough the swingarm, front axle, and rear axle, with ratchet straps attached.
The one going through the front axle will pull down and forward to keep the wheel in the Baxley. (the Baxley will also have the safety lock applied)
The one through the rear axle will pull down and forward to keep the rear wheel from bouncing and moving side to side.
These 2 will be snug, but don't need to be reefed on as there is not much give in the wheel / tire combo.
The one through the swingarm will pull down and forward, and will be like a safety, as if it is ratcheted tight it will put some load on the suspension.

I will have this completed by Wed next week and will post pics, but you get the idea.

I have never loaded my suspension when hauling a bike and never will.
I feel the springs are weakened, and prematurely sag if this is done. Just Me.
Cheers!
