Mate you're so right , can only hope it wont get worse....
My wifes a new entrant primary school teacher (5yr olds) in her class she also has small hammers and nails etc to 'learn' with lol and lets them climb stuff and build , yep they have tumbles and get sore thumbs occasionally but are learning
she sometimes gets told 'you cant let them do that'.... Wifes been doing this her whole career

If a teacher with good intentions tries to get a student to pull their weight in class, it's generally the teacher that loses that battle.
I know I sure wouldn't want to be a teacher....
Parents are either too busy or have their hands tied these days which allows kids to forget their place in society...somehow they think they are in charge.
James Dean personified 'the Rebel', that other man child in the pic on the scooter is the exact opposite, he is a product of the school system and the State nanny system, he has been confused regarding his own gender and he conforms to society and follows trends and fashions , in short, he is a girl's blouse . . . as we used to refer to these soft wooses back in the day.

Where we are is pretty wide ranging right now.... the whole scale of good to bad, weak to strong is a shifting landscape of human examples that are defined by the interactions you have with them. We have plenty of wussies to look at and shake our collective heads these days. At the same time if you get to know certain leaders in police departments... certain leaders in the trades industry... certain people in the legal arena... you will discover some old school tough guys that haven't changed much since they grew up and became certain of who they are be it a man or a woman.
