Tip Over Sensor

I just returned from the stealer to check on the status of my non-starting bike. I posted about a week ago detailing the problems with my bike not able to start after the FI light started to blink.

Anyway, the service guy says the tip-over sensor malfunctioned and they had to replace it ($134).

Has anyone had this specific sensor go bad on them? If so, what was the fix? I looked in the manual, and it does not list a detailed description of what is to be done to resolve the problem. I would highly appreciate any insighy anyone can provide.

TIA,

the sensors job is if you tip the bike over it will kill the engine for safety, like so if won't starv on oil, or if you broke the engine cover & the oil is leaking every where your engine will not lock. i never had any problems with that sensor but it is possible for it to go bad. if they checked the harness from the sensor to the ECU & they found it good, they need to replace the sensor.

I believe a saw a website where they said they had gone wrong while leaned on some other suzuki during racing and had a pretty good crash. the guy said that he just filled it in with silicone. heres the website. http://www.mototuneusa.com/gsxr_tip_over_switch.htm
