Tire deals

I am needing a new set of tires since the belt is about to popout into view on the rear. I am looking for a cheap set of rubbers. Something that will be best suited for lots of highway. Anyone know of any deals?

All Shinko's are pretty much W rated. I feel froggy sometimes and like to see how fast I can go in 6th. So, they are out.

Show me a tire that is rated higher than W. I have yet to see one. If you see a Y rated speed rating let me know.

Not trying to be a smarta$$ but tires and brakes are your life on a bike. Is this really where you want to penny pinch??

Got a set of Avon Storm 2 Ultra for $285. Very good tire with really good mileage.

lots of deals on dunlop Q2s out there for 200-220 shipped to your door. So many good sales out there for Dunlops, Bridgestones and Michelins that I don't know why folks would go with anything less.

>.> there is a set of Q2's sitting next to his bike that i bought for 205....

I really like those tires (Q2s). I'm using them on my track bike right now. They are easily delivering what I'm asking of them.

Food is also my life and cost of living is high and my income isn't. So if I had extra I would love to have a set of nice, "name brand" tires. Right now I am rocking some Full Bore tires because they were 100 bucks for a set. They are supposively soft-soft for track, but I am just getting to the point where band will show shortly and I have 5100 on the back, 4100 on the front. I stretch things out of necessity not general "cheap ass'ness".

For $100 a set I can see the logic of picking up cheap tires, but when your start getting up to $160 a set you might as well just go all the way to $200. Definetly worth about 3 days of ramon noodles imo.

Might want to check around for some used tires to if your really on a budget.
