To Chrome or Not to Chrome

I am planning on switching out my rims for a set of rims that are chrome. Are the rims for the 750 and the Hayabusa the exact same? Also after looking over some of the rims that they had in stock, there were a lot of imperfections in the chrome plating and dents in wheel. I was told that this is fairly common for chrome rims, how many of you have found this to be the case?

You have to pay big money for absolutely perfect chrome. Very small dents are common. They usually get from a tire changer. If you have any doubts, have them spin it for you on a balancer.

There are good chromers and bad ones, you have to decide for yourself since your the one looking at it.

There is probably nothing wrong with the procedure, but these companies use used trade-in wheels (like yours will be) to chrome, and since they have been used, they have imperfections before they are chromed. Find a dealer that chromes BRAND NEW wheels, but most likely won't take yours as a trade and therefore will be much more expensive. I personally don't care for chrome on bike wheels, because besides showing every defect, 2 miles down the road they look gray anyway. Black hides brake dust and road/chain grime very well. Good luck!

Do like me chrome your own wheels next winter...that way you don`t have to worry about getting some crap back...I personally love chrome wheels...especially on black...get your rear sprocket and carrier chromed also.
