Thinking about buying the NX System after seeing the zx 1400 commercial for the umphteen time.....any do's and dont's? I dont want anything crazy....maybe just a 20-30 HP shot.....Currently im running Akrapovic bolt ons & K&N filter, a PCIII USB tuned with A dynojet map...I just used the one fir yosh with filter and it works good. I was running a TRE but pulled it cause its..... well u know what a TRE is and if you dont i do not want u responding to this post =).....Sooooo can i run the NX system without any more mods? Is it safe? Am i gonna grenade my engine? Thanks guys......-BBB

You still need some extra fuel, add it with a power commander and go kick some arse!

What NJ said...
Just go up 2 or perhaps 3 bars on the PC and hang on...
And I do mean hang on...
Nothin like a 40 or 50 shot to unexpectedly smoke the tire in 4th at over 140...
It tends to leave a small, raised brown ring on the seat afterwards...
And just so ya know, it's a beotch to even take a drink of water for a little while after that...
I spilled more than I swallowed...
I was shakin like a Dog shittin a Peach seed...

Sounds good to me =), i wonder if people will ask why i cover my seat with plastic?  Maybe ill just invest in a box of depends =).....Im still going to be doing plenty of regular riding with this bike so when im riding around not spraying i will be running rich with the added fuel,  What im getting at is how much will running 2-3 bars richer on the fuel effect my regular performance?  Im not at the drags constantly and this is more of a once ina while thing which i do not want to have to pre-plan weather or not im going to spray.  I understand this is a luxery i might not be able to have but i really like the idea of just arming the system on a whim and hitting the go button...like in the case of finding myself next to a zx 1400 on an open freeway.  I guess if i know im going to run the canyons or a track day, leaning the bike back out isnt that big of a deal cause thats the only time im expecting all i can get from top to bottom of the power band.  If there was any doubt in my mind on doing this you both have removed it.....Thanks, -BBB

P.S. Is the NX system the best out there?  Any System in particular you would reccomend over the other? Also has anyone hit the go baby go button with a passenger? =), that would be so messed up......unless u didnt like the passenger i suppose........;)

Okay after all my research im thinking i want the Zex Busa specific system. It has the TPS thing-a-ma-jig seemingly making it more user friendly. My new question is what do "you guys" (People already using nitrous) think of this system and its TPS Deal...If your not up to speed on the new zex system basicly it has a unit that syncs with your TPS upon activation of the nitrous system and monitors your (Throttle Position Sensor) and only sprays at WOT (Wide Open Throttle). They say this is good for when your front tire starts to head north-bound...(LIFT UP) you can back off the throttle and thus in their words, "Tune" how much juice your spraying to keep from looping out your bike. I was thinking of getting this unit with the two way purging system cause it looks super freaking kewl =), they even make a light for when purging @ night to make a colored cloud. Please let me know what ya think cause i wanna get something thats above and beyond everything else, "Idiot Proof......well Resistant i guess would be a better word for it, since putting Nitrous on a bike thats already one of the fastest you can get your hands on, probably isnt the brightest thing in the world to do, but it sure seems like a good idea ".....-BBB:D

Sorry, but I gotta ask. I just bought a busa with the TRE installed and I know what it does for the most part I think. Why did you pull it? What is the downside of running one? For what I understand it removes the 186mph limit and also gives the bike more power in the lower gears?

If you do a search on this you will find tons and tons and TONS of info on TRE's....Depending on which one you have heres how they work. They trick your ECU into thinking its in 5th gear all the time. This gets rid of the Timing Retardation in the first three gears, hence the name "TRE", Timing Retard Eliminator. Most sellers of these claim it will give you more power/torque in the first three gears, better wheelies, more power off the start blah blah blah....The really old TRE's can give u a really lumpy idle which is an effect of the bike thinking its in a higher gear and running a lot richer then it should. This is a sacrafice of ridability for power which is a down side in my opinion since the power it provides isnt really all that much. Like you said it also removes the top speed limiter.."I have yet to talk to anyone who has tested this besides drag bike pilots." Even then they have figured out better ways to remove this restriction. Ive seen all kinds of TRE's from the old crappy ones to the ones that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch. Its a simple, simple thing that can be made for less than a few bux. NE ways, i pulled mine cause i didnt see any noticable improvment. When i bought my power commander and loaded it up with a good map i saw good improvement and i didnt want the TRE to mess with the way the bike reacted to different maps i load on my PC.....

i took a look at that kit on there site,i didn't see anything special about it (nothing wrong with it either) if the tps is a plug and play, that would be a plus

most dry kits are very simmilar,it's the bells and whistles that seperate them, and the way that you want to plumb them that makes the difference

i have 2 nitrous street bikes, the setup on the busa is much more expensive, but other then that i don't have to run a nitrous map,(btc box) it doesn't work any better then the cheap dynotune setup i have on the other bike
