Considering a Tobin seat. Noticed the zippered hump pad option on his website.

Any opinions? Does the zippered hump pad provide any support for the lowerback? Does it add any comfort to the stock Tobin seat?

I've been thinking of some longer trips this year. Wondering if the zippered hump pad would help.

I would call the zippered hump pad a "race" pad. Not really for the lower back, but more for the upper butt. It keeps you in place for the hard launches. So, because it gives you less wriggle room, I would not purchase it for the purpose of comfort on a long ride. I'm definitely not knocking the Tobin's. I own four of his seats and will keep on buying them. Just saying that is regular cut seat is just fine for comfort, even on the longer rides.

What He ^ said .

I just ordered my Tobin and got the Hump Pad because I keep being jerked back (so I'am a little heavy on the throttle

) and banging into the hump. Me, I like a tight seat (no comments this is about bike seats

) even on long trips ! So, trying it with and without will be the order of the day when I receive it !

Everyone, thanks for the info. I'm deciding on the styles/colors of Tobin's now. Since I'm looking more for comfort I'll forgo the hump pad.
