Could someone that knows please explain the following about the Tobin seat shape and pad:

I like the raised portion but what about the hump pad as an added accessory, does it increase comfort? Also, does it interfere with sliding back and forth across the seat in the canyons? Thanks for any opinions/experience you may have! Raydog

The riser alone will stop the sliding. For me it seems the hump pad helps ease back pain. When I first got mine I rode for a week or 2 straight with the hump pad on. Than for a change I took the hump pad off, at this point I started to feel the old tightness in my back after about 30 minutes of riding. Pad is back on and back is straight.

With my pad on I feel toooooo constricted in the seat. Looks

great, but for me I like the movement in the seat that it prevents. Works wonders though if your drag racing in keeping you nice and tight in the seat. But, for sliding sideways in the seat, WELL

, unless your very small in the rear end dept. , your not going to be able to slide from side to side. The pad forces you to keep contact with the tank very tightly, which for some can present MAJOR problems

. Of course these can be over come just by becoming a EUNUCH

Thank you guys so much for your input, it sounds like I'll go ahead and get the hump pad for long distance comfort, choose the slick glossy seat material for getting back and forth in leathers on the track (with hump pad removed) and NOT sign up for some sort of surgical removal procedure.
