Too much oil

I just got my busa back from the service dept. after the 600 mile service. I broke the bike in fairly hard but I had changed the oil and filter 3 times before 600 miles, at 200 mile increments.
I found that the bike was running weird when I left the dealer and it was missing gears and hitting false neutrals. I took it out for the Friday night run at Fuddruckers and rode it pretty hard all night but I kept missing gears and the bike kinda felt doggy and slower for some reason.

The next day I go to check the oil level and with the bike on the sidestand, the oil level window was covered with oil. I drained the excess oil out and found that the sugarbritches at the dealership had overfilled the oil by over 1& 1/2 quarts.

Could that have damaged the bike? What kind of problems if so? Since I drained the oil out, the bike seems to run great again. Why would the trans be missing gears because of the oil level?

Im going back tommorow and I'm gonna make the ****ing guy who worked on it drink whats left, with a funnel and a baseball bat!

say johnny? What advice can you give me on what i should check over my busa that my dealership boys might not have done? They did everything by the book though. Chain adjust, new oil at proper level, new filter torqued on right, fluids checked, etc..It was done at 740miles and now at 1740miles its still running awesome. Is there anything else i should do? Anything to check or loctite perhaps? I washed my busa today and found my left mirror loose as hell. I tightened it back up. Funny i never noticed it before. Anyways, what do you suggest i do?

doulbe check your brake and clutch lever bolts and nuts add grease if needed and make sure you put blue loctite on the nuts.
and make sure the pivot shaft that comes out of the peg bracket is lubed.
Off hand if it runs good I would not worry about TPS or throttle body snych

I would check the air filter it might be soaked in oil that would probably the most damage that would happen.
I agree go back to the wrench and tear his head off. Those lame *** want-a-be tech give me a bad name.
PS; ask them if they pulled the shiftlever off and lube the piovt shaft.

Yo Lofty:

to check oil, bike must be balanced, while on its wheels, then check the window for oil level;

from you description ... "while on the side stand" ...

this wil not give you accurtate reading!

u say fudds on friday night..wud that b the fudds in ft. lauderdale?? where r u located??

some times too much oil will cause aeration of the lube oil, that would make the oil to loose it's lubricating properties causing the machine to run unstable.

Yeah, thanks auqa. That was the problem, even with the bike on its stand, leaning away from the window, it was covered with oil. When I stood the bike up straight the oil level went higher but you couldnt tell because the oil was already so high. Like I said, at least 1 and a half quarts too much.

it shouldn't cause any internal engine problems but it dose eat up a lot of HP. ask Kawasaki?!! I recently had a similer problem with too much oil in my busa it dropped about 15HP down to only 180HP. bad PCII map accounted for the othe 7HP, should have been 203HP. changed back to 2 long and 2 short air stacks to get rid of flat spot but lost a couple peek HP in the proccess nice smooth curve though.
