I've been given another 24hrs to make up my mind on new set of tyres for my busa so could who ever reads this another tyre thread give me your top 3 choices thanx

Truly, if you are not carving up the corners with your hair on fire and just riding normally like the rest of us, then I can completely recommend the Shinko Ravens, they are a great tire at a great price (~$170 shipped off eBay) and guys are getting close on 10K miles off them. I stand to be corrected, but I haven't read a single bad report on them yet. Don't forget, Shinko is basically the old Yokohama motorcycle tire works.

After that I'd probably say Metzeler M3/M5s, better grip lower life.

Won't buy Michelin's again, they came on my Blackbird hated them, got a set on my VFR800 hate them just as much.

I am happy with Pirelli Angels so far next set will be the same, I am not a road racer so can testify to their grip in the twistsees

dude you getting ripped off... iron pony shinko ravens rears all day long 110 shipped. oh wait...is that for the set?

Yeah that $170 is for the set.
If the Shinkos aren't for you I would go with the Metzeler's or Pirelli's

At $170/set for Shinko's, I would think there is no discussion to be had.

I just mounted a new set of Michelin Pilot Road 2's (my 2nd set in a row), and while I like them fine, the Shinko's are MUCH, MUCH less expensive. Mine were prox $285 to my door as i recall.

Just from my riding,

Avon Storms, long mileage tire with great grip on the street, have dragged knee and plasitcs on the Storms. I had over 5k on them before I replaced them, only because I have track day coming up.

Dunlop Q-2's, just installed a set for more aggressive riding on the track, but already plan for about 3k in mileage and they will need to be replaced.

My next best tire would be the Bridgestone BT-16. I have seen what Uncle Steve does on them, and if the Q-2's were not available, that would be my tire.

If you want an all around great tire with grip and mileage, wet weather traction, the Storm is my tire hands down. Here is a pick of the Avons in action in Eureaka this Spring. They are solid and planted riding 2-up in any condition. Good luck with your choice my friend.

Shinko Ravens, here!

I was dragging knee with 'em in Eureka and also at Heartland Park for a track day.

That's what I've been running since the bike has 16,000+ miles on her. She now has over 72,000 miles on her and still using the same brand. The best part I love about them.....they last a long time and they're very good in the wet. Talk about wet weather traction.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

Avons or Dunlop Qualifier.. Front tire 105 shipped on JakeWilson.com.. PM me if you want a 10.00 off code..

Tim from Pashinit recommends the Avon Storms..

Tough question to answer with out giving any info on what your going to do with the bike.

Although I don't always ride around like a maniac I like to keep the bike "maniac ready" so to speak.

Dunlop Q2 best tire ever. Grips better than the original Qualifier and has a much harder center to extend the life of the tire out a bit. If you want the best handling street tire you can buy this is the way to go imo. This is the only street tire I'll be buying for a while. However if the price was right (Less than $200) I would have no problem going with Bridgestone BT16s, BT-003s or Michelin Power Pures.

On a side note... I would really like to ride with someone riding on these Shinkos and see how hard you guys are getting on them. The definition of "Spirited Riding" can vary greatly from person to person.
