Top Triple Nut

Hi folks, recently picked up a junk bike and I'm removing the front end for a fighter project.

Last night I went to put a pipe wrench on the top stem nut and I just couldn't do it.

It's a star shape and i'm sure it fits in a normal metric socket but due to it's shape I was unsure and I'd be damned if I could find my caliper gauge/veners to measure it.

Anyone have a size for that sucker? I'm going to buy a socket tonight to pull it. I saw a special tool on ebay, but that must be a joke, right?
