OK guys.... The 'busa totally amazes me. I ride a Suzuki Bandit 1200S. I KNOW this bike is wikkid fast. I went riding with a friend last weekend who has a Hayabusa. We were on a road, rolling about 45 mph, when we crested a hill and it was wide open. About 3 miles of nothing but straight pavement. No crossroads, no cars, and excellent visibility. Anyway, my friend holds his throttle hand up and acts like he's twisting the throttle.
OK, fine... he wants to let the beasts stretch their legs a little bit. I figure, what the hell, I should stay somewhat near him, but he's got me. There's nobody around and I haven't cracked more than about half throttle on this thing. I've been dying to know what this thing's got. All I've come up against are Neon SRT-4's, Honda Civics with fart cans, and a couple of 600/750 riding squids that I've had to show that they aren't this $hi+. I tap down to second gear and we both tuck in take off. My friend's Busa jumps out about 8-10 bike lengths and I start reeling him in. I think... no way am I actually catching a Busa. He pops out of the bubble just enough to look in his mirror to check and see if I'm still there. I swear I say him nod like "OK, lets see what you've got". We were just breaking 110 as I see him tuck back in and then.... Even with me at FULL THROTTLE and shifting at the 11,000 redline... he leaves me like I'm sitting still! He says he let off at 155 and I was just breaking 140. I find out later that he was shifting about 8,000. He had a lot more in reserve! INSANE! I can't imagine the power of a busain my right hand! What a bike! I need one.
As they always say... Speed is relative... and around the busa... I just bow down to the king and know that I am S-L-O-W.
