Track Day Requirements

Some friends invited me to Moroso on saturday (they're gonna take a porsche turbo and maybe a ferrari), and asked me to bring the Busa. I personally would love to see how I do on the 1/4 mile with the busa, but I don't really have racing gear. I have a Helmet, and a Joe Rocket mesh jacket... would that be enough for them to let me do the 1/4 mile? or do I need a full leather suit, boots, gloves, etc? I can get boots and probably gloves easily, but pants would be a problem... does anyone know if you can just use jeans?

It may vary from state to state and track to track but in my experience, they (do) require a DOT helmet and one piece leathers. Zipped together leathers would also work. Have you called the track and asked?

thanks for the info... My friends just threw the idea at me a few hours ago, and I havent done any research. I guess I'll call the track tomorrow and ask them about it.

Florida 1/4 mile tracks require full leathers on anything that runs in the 10's or better with boots that cover the ankles, full fingered gloves and a helmet of course. Some NHRA sanctioned tracks move the requirement up to mid 11's. Regardless you should wear leathers for your own protection. If this is your first time out on the track be advised you will NOT spin on launching under 6000 rpm so be prepared to push the front end down, Get some leathers and have some fun.

I took the ZX-9 down the track at Baytown before. You need a jacket, preferrably leather, gloves, and boots, DOT helmet. Leather pants are not required unless you go over 120. After that you need full leather and a lanyard kill switch as well.

The track is different than the street. Make a few low speed passes to get used to it. If it is anything like the track in Baytown, be careful, cause those two concrete walls don't move !!

I once saw a guy let his girlfriend take a brand new Mustang GT with the dealer tag down the track. She spun and wrecked every corner on the damn car.

Most tracks I've been to you need>.

leather jacket ..and pants if you go over 121..I'm sure You will!also some tracks say they also have to zip together!

Snell 95 rated or better full face helmet with shield
Teather kill switch
Chain guard
good tires
metal valve stems (only 1 track broke stones for that)
head and taillight
High top sneakers or boots that cover the ankle
full leather gloves with no holes
Number on bike, either a number plate or shoe polish, they now have stuff that rubbs off easy,(Schnitz, pingle and other sell it)if you use the real shoe polish it can and will stain anything you put it on..

NHRA lic if You go in the 9s!! around here when they see a busa pull up thy know they can go 9s so they ask right off the bat

Some tracks don't look at anything some are ok..depends I guess on how the guy feels that day??But If you look like you know what your doing..There usually pretty kool..
