I am curious if anyone has had problems with reel wheel traction in corners? ie rear tire breaking away or spinning out on corners? Thanks

Not so far with the Avon Storm or the Dunlop Q-2. I am still breaking in the Q-2's. What tire are you running? Welcome to the oRg! :welcome:

If anyone is spinning up the rear on corner exit you better be a Pro Roadracer Period. I did it by mistake last year and did the wrong thing...chopped the throttle......just big wiggle and no harm done. A Doohan Darkie is the correct term for it.........back tire on fire exiting turns on a Moto Gp Bike... OH how i wish i could but at 59 i think not a good time to learn that.
Welcome...Respect the Busa ALWAY'S

:welcome: I have had no such problem with mine. But I tend to stay with in my skill level in the turns and with in the posted limits on blind turns

She is heavier if you came from off a 600,750 or 1K sport bike keep that in mind.

how many miles have you put on the tires? you warm the tires up before you hit the twisties? hows your body position in the curves? just compare your tire wear between the front and back, if there not the same your leaning wrong.....all these take a factor....believe me brother don't ride beyond your skills...i know by experience, you'll go down if your not careful :welcome:to the org

Yes, on stock tires and a new bike, under no throttle whatsoever. Spooked me.

Makes me mad that this has broken my confidence in "turning and burning" with the Busa... Gonna rough the tires up a bit with sandpaper and try again. Wasn't riding aggressively at all... just going around the long driveway/road into my apartment complex. Have gone faster on the curves on my Ninja 250. :banghead:

Dealer set pressure at 42, front and back.

I often take 45km/h corners at 80, and I haven't had any slippage.

Maybe you're too hard on the throttle?

New bike new tires, it could be that the tires haven't been scuffed enough yet. How many miles on the new tires when this happened?

Don

imo..That is too much tire pressure for significant corner carving. You'll get better mileage out of your tire though with the higher pressure.

Also you can't flog the busa on the exit of a corner like the ninjette. The busa has a ton of hp and can easily over power any tire on the market.

I run Dunlop Q2s on both my bikes. Track bike I run 31 front/29 rear. Street bike gets 35 front 35 rear. It does make me go through tires a bit faster but I don't have the rear spinning up on me on hard corner exit.

If I were to guess your problem is probably both the high tire pressures and over-zealous throttle application.

Good luck!
