well I almost had one . on may way home comeing from the hang out spot .I had three bikes picking on me because they know that its not broke in yet. but I never got over 7 grand ,but as the front trie came down I seen all three bikes behind me and red and blue flashing lights I never looked back .

Another almost, whilst going through the local twisties, I rode upon one of my favorite left hairpins, doing the whole pose/kneescrape thing when along comes the other way a marked police sedan. He immediately stopped mid-corner, put the flashing lights on and proceeded to to a U-turn.

Now knowing this road like the back of my hand and having 3500km on the clock, I had to weigh up my decision.

That was the last I saw of Mr. Policeman.

Hmmm, traveling down I-470 here in Kansas City next to a new silver vette..... both doing about 80......zap laser fuzz......

Ticket was 79 in a 65 $100 fine, went to a lawyer and had it reduced to a parking ticket ..... total $221.

<<<went to a lawyer and had it reduced to a parking ticket>>>

Now _that's_ a good lawyer. He was able to convince the court that you were doing 79 MPH -- while parked?

;^)

Had the valentine one, but was on my buddy's bike and I had decided to take off in front and play a bit (I know this was the mistake that almost got me in hot water) coming over the top of Bluitt Pass In washington state approaching RV who was nearing the end of the two lane section before merging back int one lane I was probably doing around 100 at the time but when I realizwd that I might get stuck in behind this vehicle not a pleasant proposition I decided to go for it and pass by him when I got by the rv I showed an indicated 120 and I started the descent down the a stater was coming up the other way as soon as I saw him his lights went on and as long as I was going that fast I knew I was looking at a pretty serious charge no matter what I did. So considering my options I figured even if I ran and got caught it would not be much worse than it was So I took off showing speeds of up to 170 while blowing by cars and RV for the next 15 to 20 miles spotted a cafe pulled in around back by there dumpster shed my gear and headed for the restroom to hide it was locked so went to the front counter to get key but it was being used so stood injust my street clothes making small talk with an old couple while waiting for the key. Now I have kept a real close watch on my watch since I stopped and it had been about 7 minutes since I took off my gear Istarted to think the cop had given up the chase I had not seen him since I saw his lights come on. Just then the person who was using the restroom came in with the key and as he handed it to me I stepped out the front door of the cafe the cop blows by with his lights on I walk behind watching to see if he is going to turn around he never does, I have to say he had not given up after twenty miles or so he is still chasing even though I had been at the cafe for 8 minutes so I just waited at the cafe watching the traffic pass till I could flag down my buddy to change riding apparel (we are both wearing One piece Aerostich's his blue mine black)so I could casually make it to the interstate about ten miles up the road. The moral I would have to recommend it always make use of your radar detector ( it had of course gone off about 1/4 mile earlier for him and he had already slowed back down. But since I wasd in front of him I was not able to utilize this tool.

Oh by the way Saeng USA is sending me my radar mount for the BUS now that he has it fabricated so I do not have to follow my buddy to play anymore LOOKOUT ( H has an 888 Ducati not a lot of Horses)

Hey, you guys might also be interested in joining the National Motorists' Association (NMA). Their "Guerilla Ticket Fighter" audio tape is AWESOME and has helped me on three seperate occasions kill an otherwise unbeatable traffic ticket.

Highly recommend it... Check out their site at http://www.motorists.org/ or call them at 608-849-6000. Tell them Howard Bayne, AZ activist, sent you and that you are a motorcycle rider.

i hear if you join the NMA, after 1 year they will pay for your speeding tickets if you fight them and lose. Check it out, it could be a great investment

You are right, flyfast! This is true! I forgot about the "club warranty." Lol... TOTALLY worth the $20 investment, and an awesome way to fight the antiquated, unproven BS moneymaking notion that speed kills.

The government often seems concerned about your safety, yet how many times have you seen a cop more worried about your speed or the fact that you have an outdated registration and less concerned about the car in front of you that has no brake lights? I mean, c'mon... Where's the danger here?

Fact is that speeding tickets are one of the best forms of revenue that a government can find, and that is all there is to it. How many times have you been pulled over for going 70 in a 55, even though your machine is perfectly safe at that speed? What about when there were no other cars around? What about when the four lanes each way of road were dry, clear, and totally unoccupied by another car? They still pull you over, but it's not unsafe. It's far less safe to be driving stop and go in a traffic jam in LA. I see accidents all day long becasue someone was riding too close...

Speed doesn't kill... Inoperable equipment, reckless driving, high risks, INTERSECTIONS, and blind drivers do. I had a friend that lost his life because a driver ran a red light (just didn't see it) while he was going through his green. He was going less than 10 mph. It's not the speed that kills. It's misjudgement.

The reason that we all believe that speed kills is because it's an easy way for the government to make money. It's all about the cash, man, and I think it sux.

Join the NMA and help fight the government's strangle hold on the American driver. This isn't about safety... It's about making money, and I am tired of paying.

Look... For the amount of insurance I pay per month, I could easily buy a second bike to have in my garage in case I crashed the first. That's rediculous! My insurance doesn't cover MY injuries, and I, on a bike, am not likely to hurt someone is a car. So why the high price? I think that the second bike would be better "insurance" than paying these big companies. It's all about the money, and the government is a part of this whole insurance scam becasue they REQUIRE you to have it. Do you remember college business class? What happens to a supply and demand curve when the demand goes way up (because it's required?) The price can skyrocket, and you and I are left footing the bill.

With the price of my insurance, I buy a new bike for someone else every 23 months. A new 'Busa, in fact. Never had an accident, never mad a claim, and with one speeding ticket (47 in a 35) in three years. 29, unmarried. Sux big.

Join the NMA and help kill this rediculous rape of the American driver!
