OK....for a few weeks now I have had a sort of "notchy" feeling to my tranny...where the tranny shifts not so smoothly both up and down shifting.
There are occasions also when if I had just been riding even a little aggressively...and coming to a stop...I could pull in the clutch, down shifting from 2nd to 1st.....be doing just a few miles an hour....and the motor wants to rev according to my bike speed...not coming to an idle until I am just about stopped. Then the clutch will sometimes be grabby (rarely).
It almost feels like the springs are worn out or something...
Either way...even with the motor off...just moving the bike forward and back to get it down to neutral...the "notchyness" is still there...it almost seems like the shift forrks are snagging on the drum. I also see that the travel of the shifter seems a bit longer than usual... perhaps the spring on the drum could be bad?
I am currently checking all the usuals, but seriously hope it's not something in the tranny itself... I am "without income" at the moment and can't imagine being able to replace it before the Busa Bash (staying with a friend for free) just over a month or so away.
I do ALOT of two up riding...and this motor has never seen a drag race or hard launch of any kind. I was so proud of getting about 10~11K miles without any issues...now I wonder if I will have to try and make use of my extended warranty.
Anyone have an idea on this? Or does it sound familiar?
I have been riding these GSXRs since 1990...and have been through one or two trannies... So I am trying to diagnose this from memory.
