Transmission came out of gear on decel

What would casue the tranny to come out of 3rd gear. I ran it up to around 8 maybe 9 thousand then let off, when i let off it came out of gear and i had to pull the clutch in and put it back in. I know this cant be normal

You probably did not get a good shift to 3rd and it popped out...I would not worry about it unless you can repeat it a few more times.

Any chance you hit the shifter with your foot as you decelerated?

i dont think i hit it it happen twice but i havent been able to duplicate it since so im not worried about it
