Actually, it's a 6.8k ohm resistor.Do a search on the web, i think it is a 6.4k resistor but check it out to make sure, then go to radioshack and buy one. It will only be about $0.08, put it on and see if you like it. It will go on the pink wire on the left side of the motor and just ground the other side (the black wire in the same harness is a ground). I personally took mine off after i started spending more time at the track than on the streets since it will actually hurt your ET's.
I picked up almost a 1/10th and my 60 ft times dropped after taking mine off. I can't explain exactly what it hurts but i am not the only one that has experienced it, i told one of the other guys at the track last summer and he tried it and won't put his back in either. I liked the feel on the street with the TRE in but it's not for me anymore.Actually, it's a 6.8k ohm resistor.Do a search on the web, i think it is a 6.4k resistor but check it out to make sure, then go to radioshack and buy one. Just curious because I haven't been able to get a *real* answer on this. Why is it that TRE's *supposedly* hurt 1/4 mile ET's? I was under the impression that TRE's are only effective from idle to 4,000rpm, no? If this is true, then it should have no effect on performance in a drag race situation since you will always be over the 4krpm range.
I have mine for sell, $22 with shipping.I am thinking about getting one. I hate wondering if it works or not, so I will try it.
